Design :

This rug is an embossed design corner-medallion rug with animal figures. Bird-head arabesques surrounding the medallion decorate the rug. On the arabesques embossed design animal figures are apparent in different postures. Four paisleys decorate the four corners of the carpet.
The late Master Archangui, the contemporary designer of Isfahan, designed this rug. The weaver of this carpet Mr. Ali Khodadadi, used a very unique technique of weaving in this carpet which took him a long time to finish it. Of course, embossed design carpets were already woven, but with a technique that only part of the carpet had a longer pile. This difference is such that it seems the weaver has worked like a sculptor to create this rug in which the animals, roses and butterflies are woven three-dimensionally like applique works. This is counted as a very rare rug due to its technique of weaving. The same weaver wove just two other carpets like this.
