main field of the rug with prayer - niche design and bunches of flowers,
typical of kerman , shows a European festivity in the middle flanked by
two vases full of colourful flowers and gol - farang mutif.
Down the middle part of the main field we see a pond of water with ducks. It seems that the theme of this rug is adopted from the European postal cards and special prints, woven in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries , specially in kerman.
The main border carries vase design with tiny colourful flowers. Two cartouches are woven in the middle of the upper and lower part of the main border with the following inscription :
" dedicated to the blessed footstops of king of kings by rookon - el - dowleh"
